Why are songs that I didn’t even listen to being recorded

Sometimes when I begin listening to a song, even for less than a second, I close the spotify app because I have something else to do, I don’t wanna listen to music anymore, etc.

Later on I’ll go to Stats.fm and see it was counted… As a whole stream. Sometimes it says it was counted from the last time I listened to Spotify or the next time I open it

Why is this happening. It doesn’t even happen everytime just majority of the time
