Random artists
The app will just tack random artists on to certain albums or songs? The entirety of The Bends by Radiohead says it’s by them and someone named Rosie Carney? I have no idea who she is and now she shows up in my most listened to artists.

This is because songs/albums credit other artists, but Spotify sometimes puts them in the “main artist” category, even if they aren’t listed on the track (you have to click on the “song credit” or something weird to find this). I had the same problem with The Bends (one of my favorite albums), so now I have some rando in my top artists on stats.
It also happened with “I Spy” and “FEELING CALLED LOVE” by Pulp. On top of crediting Anne Dudley, there’s a credit for “orchestra,” which is just a vague term, but Spotify/statsfm try to link it to an actual artist, so there’s some random stuff going on. There’s really not much statsfm can do, it’s more of a problem with Spotify categorizing artists in a nonsensical way

I’m having it with Paramore. The Only Exception gives me Mac Miller, Ain’t it Fun shows up as Ed Sheeran, I Caught Myself gives me Collective Soul??? I have no clue what’s going on and it’s annoying me

Also happened to me at the artist Alex G, it now shows Masterlove or something instead of Alex G which is very annoying because he should’ve been in my top 3 of all listened if it wasn’t for the random mix-up.

Happened to me multiple times as well. It names other (wrong) artists for a song completely random and also counts it to the statistic of the wrong artist.
