Duplicate plays when pausing a song for extended time

I've noticed that any time I pause a track on Spotify for an extended period (say I am driving to work, pause the music on arrival and don't resume play until after work), the stats show I played the song twice, even though I've only really listened to the entire thing once that day. This occurs on a daily basis for me and does affect my play stats. This may be due to handling of tracks when listening to 30secs - 1min+ always being counted as a play even if the song doesn't get finished.
