Apple Music

I have recently switched from spotify to apple music, and would like to keep all my stats in the same place. The app won’t, however, let me link apple. It says I need to enable media and apple music access, which is already on by default. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app as well as turning that feature on and off, and importing previous apple music history. None of this, however, seems to want to work. I would just cut my losses and make a new account for apple music as that seemed to be okay when I tried, but that also means losing my premium subscription that I have already paid for.
