It appears that skipping thru an album or clicking a song almost immediately counts it as a stream. If I’m looking for a particular song while driving, for example, I’ll skip through the album or playlist to find the track but it seems like playing a song for even a little bit counts it as a stream. The threshold for recording a stream as a true stream should be at least 1 minute. This was a setting that is editable in the Marvis client for Apple Music. At baseline, the Last.fm and Apple Music threshold for what a stream is considered is also good too. I feel like Stats.fm is the most inaccurate of the various platforms I use when it comes to counting true listens. I love the app otherwise.
This is an example happened today. A friend of mine told me to listen to the Tory Lanez album. It’s 1h30m long, and I told him I don’t care for Tory Lanez and especially not an album that long. I skipped through like 6 tracks, over a course of maybe 5 mins, and Stats.FM has counted it as 6 streams, 22 minutes for that album. I don’t want that on my history man lmao.
