Split profiles: Spotify, Apple Music and combined

For users who listen across multiple streaming platforms, it can be difficult to get an accurate sense of listening habits and stats per service. Currently, Stats.fm merges all connected data into a single combined profile.

While this unified approach is great for showing overall listening trends, it makes it hard to see how much of that data comes from each platform. Especially for users who switch between Spotify and Apple Music, or use both regularly.

The proposed solution is to introduce separate profile tabs within the app:

  • Spotify tab: Displays stats based solely on Spotify listening data.

  • Apple Music tab: Displays stats based solely on Apple Music data.

  • Combined tab: Shows the merged overview (as it currently exists).

This setup would allow users to easily toggle between services for more granular insights and comparisons.

Why this would be valuable:

  • Gives cross-platform listeners a clearer breakdown of where their listening time actually goes.

  • Encourages deeper engagement with the app’s stats by offering per-service insights.

  • Provides more accurate reporting for users who use both platforms but have different habits on each.

  • Could open up new analytics features in the future (e.g., comparing favourite artists or genres per service).

Example Scenario:
A user listens to indie rock playlists on Spotify but uses Apple Music for their jazz collection. In the current system, their top artists, tracks, and genres get blended together. Separate tabs would let them see two distinct sides of their musical identity, plus the merged view if they still want an overall summary.

Bonus Idea (completely optional):
Include a small visual indicator (like service icons or colour-coded highlights) in the combined view to show which platform each song or artist came from.

In short:
This feature would make Stats.fm more useful for listeners who split their time between platforms, offering flexibility, clarity, and deeper personalisation.
