I noticed this when Lady Gaga dropped Mayhem. Within the first couple hours thee were people like like 40,000 minutes clocked for the album. And while I know it’s not that deep in the grand scheme of things, it’s definitely an eyeroll because these people are advertising bot streams/ farms and similar things in their bio

Even if this application is not a ranking competition, I still have a hard time understanding those who try to achieve unfair placement in rankings. Like come on no one will ever think you actually listened that many times or you are the “biggest” fan of an artist because you left song on repeat with mute or you find a way to get fake stats.

Users who have streamed 24h non-stop should be on watchlist and if they keep going like this for more than 3-5 days they should need to be banned from using the app. Also the users who have streamed more than 1440 minutes in a day also need to get warnings. Cause it's mathematically not possible to stream more than that in a day.

I actually listen to music like 16-18 hours a day (depending on how much I sleep), and if I’m not home, I’ll turn my alexa on and have it play throughout the night in case someone tries to break in, they’ll hear noise and think people are home/awake.
