Equivalent plays based on actual listening time

I’d love an option for stats.fm to calculate plays using total listening time rather than requiring a song to be completed in a single session.

For example, if a song is 4 minutes long and I listen to 3 minutes, that should still count as 3 minutes listened. If I later listen to another minute of that song, those 4 accumulated minutes could equal 1 “equivalent play.”

This would also solve device-switching situations. If I listen to the first half of a song in my car, pause it, then finish it in the house, I’ve listened to the entire song even if Spotify records that as two separate partial playback events.

Since Spotify listening history includes msPlayed, it seems like stats.fm could calculate:

Equivalent plays = total time listened to a track ÷ track length

The existing completed-play count could stay exactly as it is. This could simply be an additional metric or optional way to calculate play counts.

I think this would give a much more accurate picture of actual listening habits, especially for people who switch devices, pause and resume often, or regularly skip outros.
