I understand that Apple’s Media Framework has a lot of limitations compared with Spotify’s API, and has made it impossible to directly detect skipped songs or played duration of a song. However, coming across a song and skip it one second in but still got recorded by the app as one listen is objectively frustrating, especially considering the fact that most people using this app care about accurate data a lot.
Is it possible to add a mechanism, so for example: a 3-minute-song was recorded as 1 listen, but just 1 minute later the user played another song, and the system automatically determined that the user skipped the first song, and excluded it from listening history. This method might not be able to detect all the skips, but considering skipping often happens when people listen to a playlist or station, this method can detect and eliminate a large portion of it.
OR, if that’s too much of a hassle, would it be possible to just simply give us an option to delete listening history entries that are recorded from Apple Music? I understand that we have a chart feature and some people like to do fraudulent stuff, but a function to delete entries won’t provide them any convenience to reach the top of the charts. It would give every Apple Music user a peace of mind though.
Thank you for all your hard work on integrating Apple Music into this app, as someone who just switched from Spotify to Apple Music, I’m really thankful for having a platform to keep my lifetime streaming history.
